Crazy Mixed Up Beef Brisket

Combine 1 envelope Lipton dry onion soup mix, 1/4 c/ water, 1 c. ketchup, 2 TB yellow mustard, and 2 TB grape or black raspberry jam or preserves. Blend well and place half on the bottom of a small roasting pan. Place a 4-5 lb beef brisket in the pan and top t with the rest of the mixture. Cover and bake 3 1/2 hours at 325. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator. Slice into very thin crosswise slices before serving.

Found this one in a 'recipe request' section of the Detroit News... the only drawback of course is that you need to plan ahead. Smells wonderful while it bakes!
